Celebrating Collective Impact

At the heart of fostering healthier and more connected communities lies the recognition and celebration of contributions made by whānau, hapū, iwi, and community partners. Recently, Healthy Families Rotorua hosted an extraordinary evening of gratitude and reflection, bringing together the strategic leadership group and our valued collaborators. This gathering was a chance to honour the tireless efforts and unwavering dedication of those who have worked alongside us to enhance the wellbeing of our community.

The evening commenced with a breathtaking performance by Nikau Grace. Her soulful voice and captivating presence created an uplifting atmosphere setting the night’s tone. Nikau brought a sense of connection and joy through her music, enriching the event’s spirit.

Beyond celebration, the gathering offered an opportunity to reflect on the progress and achievements of Healthy Families Rotorua over the past year. It was a proud moment to showcase the collective impact of our mahi and demonstrate how systems change drives healthier outcomes for our communities. Central to this reflection was the unveiling of two key documents: the 10-Year Healthy Families Impact Report and the Healthy Families Rotorua Pūrongo Ā Tau. These publications are more than milestones; they stand as enduring testaments to the power of collaboration and a shared vision. They highlight the progress and transformative potential of communities united in purpose and commitment.

The evening highlighted the transformative power of tikanga-led approaches, showcasing how localised solutions and the empowerment of whānau and community leadership can drive meaningful change. These principles, rooted in collective impact, were at the core of the achievements celebrated.

This focus highlights the strength of shared vision and collaboration. It demonstrates how communities, when united in purpose, can achieve transformative outcomes that benefit current and future generations.

The event concluded with a hāngi and kai, a shared meal symbolising unity, tradition, and the richness of community connection. This act of gathering to enjoy kai highlighted the role of shared culture and relationships in achieving collective wellbeing.

Healthy Families Rotorua draws ongoing inspiration from the passion and commitment of our community. Together, we continue to innovate, inspire, and work towards shaping healthier futures for future generations. This event reaffirmed the profound potential for transformative change when communities harness their collective strength and vision.
